The original project activities were to address identified weaknesses at municipal level, particularly with four municipal mechanisms supporting the communities and develop action plans to strengthen community support-related issues. Two coordination meetings were organized before physical interactions and movements were restricted due to COVID-19 outbreak. The project activities were modified for the remaining funds to serve as UNMIK support to the municipalities response to COVID-19. UNMIK support to 37 municipalities consisted of 2,159 food and 1,450 hygiene packages distributed from 12 to 16 May 2020. Around 2,764 boxes of personal protective equipment and 265 tablets for educational purposes also formed part of UNMIK's support to local COVID response.
